Mental arithmetic is aimed at learning children to count in mind. It was previously used by Japanese traders for quick calculations with the customers. It is no coincidence that abacus, an ancient analogue of a calculator, is used on the lessons. Mental arithmetic has a positive effect on intelligence and improvement of both brain`s hemispheres as well as development of creative and logical thinking. This allows the child to achieve success in any activity.
