Ilana Rotmanova

With the club since 2021

Ilana is a philologist and teacher of Russian Language and Russian as a Foreign Language with more than 20 years of experience. Over the years, she has worked with both adults and children, taught at universities and schools, and participated in international educational projects in Russia and abroad. This diverse background helps her quickly understand a student’s level, goals, and learning needs and choose an approach that truly works for them.

Ilana knows how to build engaging lessons for young children, teenagers, and adults. She adapts each course to the student’s goals, interests, and individual learning style. She uses a variety of methods and educational technologies, but for her, it is especially important that lessons do not turn into mechanical exercise completion — they should be meaningful, lively, and inspire genuine interest in the language.

Literature holds a special place in Ilana’s teaching. In her work with children, she often uses classic children’s literature because a good text can simultaneously develop speech, enrich vocabulary, improve language comprehension, and support emotional intelligence.

For her, it is important that Russian is seen not simply as a school subject, but as part of culture and real communication.
